COVID-19 and Church Gathering

The novel coronavirus named COVID-19 has been receiving much press and is the cause for much anxiety amongst many people throughout the world.  Yesterday, as the Pacific Northwest works to mitigate the spread of the virus in the region, Bishop Stavnosky released a letter with specific guidelines for the churches in the Seattle area.  While we are not experiencing the same level of risk as the churches within the King County area of Washington, we should remain vigilant in our efforts to weaken the chance of the spread of this virus or any other disease within our church family.  To best accomplish this task please:

  • Remain home if you are feeling sick.
  • If you feel your risk of contracting an illness is higher because of an immuno-suppressed system, please consider remaining at home.
  • Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.

To be clear, COVID-19 has not made its way into our community yet, so there is no reason for panic.  But, given the nature of the virus’ spread and the seriousness with which it is being regarded by health officials, there is no reason for us to not put good health practices into place right now.  Thank you.
